One of two locations with the other in Lincoln Square, a high-end sandwich place with a large choice of sandwiches and side dishes. A regular choice of the stroller set.

I lived closer to the Jimmy John’s on Roscoe, but always walked to Costello’s. Love the sandwiches here. And sometimes I’d get the sides “to go” and take to people’s houses or for sides to things we were cooking at home. It can get crowded at times, but it’s really cute inside if you get a table to stay and eat.

While it is a step up from Jimmy John’s, no way is it an upscale sandwich joint.
    “High-quality”? If you say so.
There are small differences but we they served better product under the original owners–the sauces seem watery or watered down (perhaps just old), employees are not as attentive to their jobs.

Very disappointed in the new owners. My “German Ham and Cheese Sandwich” was all lettuce and bread. When I complained, they said that all meat and cheese is carefully weighed and portioned in advance. That’s all you get. These are sandwiches made by accountants that will leave you asking: “Where’s the meat?”
