Diner with extensive?cereal?collection with sophisticated seafood offerings for dinner. Sidewalk patio in summer.
I have tried Glenn”s a number of times and each time I was dissapointed. One morning for breaksast they ran out of orange juice and it was only 10 AM. No one bothered to run to the corner an buy a gallon. When I suggested it the manager he said he did’nt think of it. Duh! Another time the service was almost totally absent and another time the chicken we ordered was obviously undercooked. When we told our waiter he said that”s how they cook it. I don’t think so. Anyway I tried to like the place because it is so close to home and I always try to support local, but I’m done trying with Glenns.
Possibly the best seafood in Chicago at least according to this Floridian. I highly recommend their version of escargot using shrimp, bob marlin, the pretzel encrusted fish and the best smoked mac and cheese. Glenn’s even converted my husband from hating fish to wanting to go there more often than me.
The food is delicious at Glenn’s but I’ve been consistently disappointed with the service. Ridiculously long wait times and a lack of attention/interest from serving staff. I don’t think I’ll be heading back – there are too many tasty restaurants that also value the importance of a competent and friendly wait staff.
