The City Council Zoning Committee takes up two proposed zoning changes in Center Square this Thursday morning.

First, State Farm Insurance is Colin Bryar is purchasing property from State Farm Insurance and proposing zoning changes for their former vehicle investigation center at 2601 W. Addison St. that would allow location of an “early childhood development day care center”, according to documents filed with the Chicago City Council Zoning Committee.

Once the location of the Riverview Speedway, State Farm has used the location as an accident investigation center. The proposed zoning change would allow a proposed tenant, Colin Bryar, to lease the 15,000 square foot building and garage from State Farm and use it for a day care center.

The proposal’s filed plans are at the bottom of this article.

Second, The Alshore Nursing Home has submitted plans to rezone adjacent property to expand their existing building at 2840 W. Foster Ave. by 564 square feet. The addition would be used for resident programming and therapeutic services.

The proposal’s filed plans are at the bottom of this article.

Update (8/1/11): The original version of this article showed that State Farm Insurance is seeking the zoning change. In fact, Colin Bryar, the purchaser, is seeking the zoning change. We regret the error.
