May Fest, German-American Fest, Apple Fest. These annual Lincoln Square traditions all started somewhere, just like the inaugural Winter Brew, scheduled for Jan. 28, 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. at Dank Haus, 4740 N. Western Ave.
A partnership between the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce and the Square Kegs Home Brew Club, Winter Brew aims to bring a little of Chicago’s summer street scene indoors for an evening of locally produced beer and food. Winners of the Lincoln Square Winter Brew Home Brew Competition will also be announced; there’s still time to enter the contest before the Jan. 15 deadline.
Tickets are now on sale; the Winter Brew entry fee is $10, plus an additional $10 for every 10-pack of food and drink tickets. What do you get for your money? An opportunity to sample some of the best local beers, plus food from The Grafton and Fountainhead. Participating breweries include 5 Rabbit, Half Acre, Metropolitan, Revolution and Finch’s, with Koval Distillery serving up signature cocktails.
