Volunteer for Citywide Spring Cleaning

By Patty Wetli | Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Cleaning is so much more fun when you call it volunteering.

Because cleaning is so much fun, why stop at Swiffering your hardwood floors when you could spruce up the entire city. Join your neighbors on April 21 for Clean & Green Day in Chicago.

Projects include picking up litter from curbs and sidewalks; helping older adults clear out their yards and garages; and weeding the river bank and spreading wood chips. An electronic recycling drop-off site will be open  9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 5333 N. Western Ave. to collect e-waste like computers, TVs, DVD players and cell phones.

To participate and obtain supplies such as brooms and garbage bags, contact Dara by April 13 at the 47th Ward Office.

So what if it’s just a plot by Streets & San to get us to do their job.
