Tomorrow night at
7:00 6:30 p.m. the West Lakeview Neighbors Association will meet at Mystic Celt, 3443 N. Southport Ave., to hear from State Rep. Ann Williams (D-11), who will provide an update on what’s happening (or not happening) in Springfield – and for many voters, a first look at their new State Rep.
If you thought State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-12) was your legislator, chances are that’s changed. Due to redistricting, Rep. Williams’ new district reaches much further south and east than previously. Her new district boundaries go to Racine Ave. in most parts, but crosses east to the Red Line to stretch to Cleveland Ave. and Dickens St. in the south.
Williams, a former staff attorney for Attorney General Lisa Madigan and lobbyist, is a resident of Northcenter and won a difficult primary against Dan Farley in 2010 to win election to the seat vacated by former Rep. John Fritchey (D) when he moved to the Cook County Board.
