TONIGHT: Party For Ravenswood Corridor Businesses

By Mike Fourcher | Thursday, September 22, 2011

If you’re a business or employee on the Ravenswood Avenue Corridor, there’s a big beer bash especially for you tonight at the Angel Sales parking lot, 4147 N. Ravenswood Ave., 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Angel Sales is providing the space and food while Half Acre is providing the beer.

The bash, also sponsored by the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce, is meant to be a get-to-know-you networking event for the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce, who is hoping to fill the void left by the Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce, which ceased operations last year.

“We go all the way to Clark Street. Ravenswood bysects our chamber,” says Angel Sales co-owner, Laura Engel, who is also a Northcenter Chamber board member. “We go from Addison to Montrose. There’s a lot of businesses in that section.”

It may seem like tonight’s event is springing up out of nowhere, but Engel says she’s been canvassing the corridor, talking to businesses in person for weeks.

“We’ve been talking to businesses directly, there’s been an email campaign, we put posters up in buildings last week. We didn’t let our regular members know until yesterday,” says Engel.

“There’s hundreds of businesses here. They should join,” says Engel. “They need to mix and mingle.”
