You’re going to run into a lot of women in pink, thousands of them in fact, on the sidewalks this weekend. Play nice if they’re blocking your path–they’re walking to raise money for breast cancer research.
This is the tenth year the Avon Walk has swung through Chicago. Last year, nearly 3,000 people took part in the event, which covers 39.3 miles (a marathon and a half) over the course of two days, beginning and ending in Soldier Field. They raised $6.1 million in 2011.
