Finally filling the long-empty former location of the Flying Chicken, a new day care center, Short Stuff, 3811 N. Lincoln Ave., is under construction and hopes to open, “in June”, says program director Nadja Jackson.

The center is accepting applications for about 20 slots for children from three-months to five-years old.

Our conversation with the new staff was brief yesterday, but as a parent with a child in day care, looking at their website, the Short Stuff’s plans and mission seem pretty aggressive, as the usual day care center goes. The website is worth a look at least for a comparison to what else is offered in the area.
