Double Up on Your Civic Duty: Run for Local School Council While You Vote

When you’re out voting in tomorrow’s primary election–you know, the election we keep talking about despite every indication of complete and utter apathy–it’s not too late to get your name on the ballot. No, not for Water Reclamation commissioner, whatever that is, but for Local School Council.

CPS extended the candidate filing deadline through March 23; scores of parents and community members are still needed to fill LSC openings at neighborhood elementary and high schools. Considering how many schools double as polling places on election day, it wouldn’t take a whole lot of effort to walk from the voting booth to the main office and throw your hat in the ring. It’s as simple as filling out the necessary nomination forms, found here.
