The Roscoe Village storefront that’s been vacant since the departure last year of direct marketing firm Home Run Media is about to get a new tenant.

The windows of the storefront at 2009 W. Roscoe St. are now covered with signs promising the arrival of Italian-inspired gelato parlor Paciugo. The location is situated between popular Roscoe Village brunch spots Kitsch’n and Orange.

It’ll be the third Chicago-area franchise for Paciugo, which started in Dallas, Texas back in 2000. Paciugo currently has 38 locations in eleven states and the Cayman Islands.

A manager for the local franchise owner says the company expects to hire 15 people for openings at the new Roscoe Village store as well as its existing stores in Lakeview (3241 N. Broadway) and Lincoln Square (2324 W. Giddings). Applications are being accepted at both existing Chicago-area stores.

The Roscoe Village Paciugo is expected to open in May. When it does, it will join Mario & Gino’s Burger Shop, 2057 W. Roscoe, as well as the now-venerable Scooter’s, 1658 W. Belmont, as walkable destinations for frozen treats in the Roscoe View area.
