Power Outage In Lincoln Square Last Night

By Mike Fourcher | Tuesday, December 20, 2011

About 1,600 homes and businesses lost power in the Lincoln Square area last night due to a, “cable fault,” says ComEd.

Between Winnemac Ave. to Montrose Ave. and from Western Ave. to Ravenswood Ave., people lost electricity due to a power line failure starting at about 10:00 p.m. and were dark for up to an hour and a half.

“The customers were picked up in three phases, 677 at 10:18 p.m., 863 by 11:00 p.m. and the final 84 were picked up at 11:20 p.m.” said ComEd spokesperson Arlana Johnson this morning.

Actually it wasn’t Western, it was more like to the river. At least south of Wilson it was.

I suspected that, since I live in that area, but ComEd would only confirm the area reported.
