This weekend was perfect street fest weather. After those triple-digit temperatures, sunny and 90 degrees feels delightfully mild. We stopped by Summer on Southport to enjoy some sunshine and some of those loud cover bands that street fests so often feature. Musical performances ranged from hair metal to kids pop. The Second City Training Center performed classic sketches in the afternoon, and–perhaps as a nod to the nearby Paul McCartney concert–Wings cover band Band on the Run performed Sunday afternoon. Kids and dogs frolicked, and 20-somethings downed a few Miller Lites. Just your typical sunny Chicago summer weekend.
