We’re not saying there’s any connection to a certain boy wizard, but surely it’s more than coincidence that local auction house Potter & Potter, 3759 N. Ravenswood Ave., specializes in magicana (collectibles related to magic and magicians). This Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10:00 a.m., curiosity seekers will have the opportunity to bid on items from the collection of Larry Jennings, including magic books and personal property.
A highly-respected card magician, Jennings was also a master of the cups and balls trick, which sounds less X-rated when referred to as the shell game. Later this year, Potter & Potter will auction off rare gambling books and an extensive collection of conjuring devices. Wands, perhaps?
Potter & Potter encourages live bidding and members of the general public are welcome to visit the Ravenswood gallery to view objects up for auction.
