The Northcenter Chamber of Commerce elected Simon Stein as organization president at the Chamber’s annual meeting at Bad Apple last week.

Stein, president of Wintrust Mortgage, 4619 N. Ravenswood Ave., and previous treasurer of the Chamber, will succeed long-time Chamber president, Rob Engel of Angel Sales, 4147 N. Ravenswood Ave.

Engel is stepping down after serving as Northcenter Chamber president since 2008. During that time Engel pushed the Chamber to move from a paper-based accounting system to digital record keeping.

He also reclaimed the Chamber’s management of and expanded the Northcenter Ribfest.

Also leaving the Northcenter Chamber board of directors are Dan Scott, owner of the UPS Store at 4064 N. Lincoln Ave., Scott Schechter from Eagle Strategies and Mike Kane of Kane Insurance.

The new board of directors elected a new executive team, including Maribel Selva from Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as 1st Vice President, Shawauna Ward of PNC Bank as 2nd Vice President, Tom Fencl of Fencl Properties as Treasurer and Joe Burke of Guaranteed Rate as Secretary.
