The annual Pet Costume Parade marched on Sunday through Northcenter, despite the damp and cold weather. Dogs and their owners followed the route from Grace to Lincoln, stopping at dog-friendly businesses along the way. The parade ended at Town Square on Belle Plaine and Lincoln, where organizers from the Northcenter Neighborhood Association hosted a wet, but welcoming, reception of hot cider and treats for canines and humans alike. An award for best costume was given to the group of “Land Sharks”. The parade is planned for Halloween again next year, with hopes of drier weather and an even better turn out.
