You don’t have to travel far or spend a lot to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Here’s a brief round-up of special dining events happening in the Center Square area.
Chalkboard (4343 N. Lincoln) is presenting a special NYE dinner for families from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, complete with mini-burgers and mac-n-cheese for $11 (adults can order from the regular menu) and a “half-midnight” sparkling cider toast.
Browntrout (4111 N. Lincoln) is ringing in the new year with sustainable dinners in two options: a three course tasting menu for $45 (wine pairing +$20) available 5:00 to 7:30 PM and a five course tasting menu for $65 (wine pairing +$35) available 7:30 PM to Midnight. Both meals feature orange smoked organic sea trout, grilled ribeye steak, and “Surprise Mignardise.”
At Dorado (2301 W. Foster), Chef Luis is serving his unique fusion of Mexican and French cuisine during three seating times (5:00, 7:00 and 9:00 PM). Dorado is BYOB.
Fiddlehead Café (4600 N. Lincoln) offers a three course meal for $49 Per Person (+$19 with optional wine or beer pairing) with starters like lobster bisque and braised pork belly, Chateaubriand and roasted duck breast for mains, and banana-white-chocolate bread pudding as a dessert option. This could be your last chance to enjoy the wine bar before it transforms into a new “gastropub” in the new year.
Sola (3868 N. Lincoln) has announced that is also planning to transform itself next year, so get your “Hanui Le’ale’a” (holiday fun) at this sophisticated Hawaiian hot spot before it’s too late. Their NYE specials include lobster risotto, Miso black cod and grilled Wagyu steak.
Mythos Greek Taverna (2030 W. Montrose) will be serving a family-style menu with four appetizers, two salads, and five entrees for $65 per person. Call 773-334-2000 to reserve.
Caro Mio Italian Ristorante (1827 W. Wilson) offers an a la carte menu with a BYOB option and seating times every two hours starting at 4:00 PM.
If you would rather celebrate by drinking, rather than eating, to welcome the new year, these bars and pubs are offering their own deals:
