Is this in addition to OTS’s Folk & Roots Festival?  Or does this replace it?

Takes the place of Razzmatazz for those of us old enough to remember…

I remember Razzmatazz! This will be replacing F&R.

So, just to be clear, this will still occupy most of Welles Park, correct? Not just the Lincoln Ave (a la Ribfest)?

It will not go into Welles Park. Read this follow up piece we just published: http://www.centersquarejournal.com/news/old-town-school-pulls-plug-on-folk-and-roots-festival

Well, I have to say I’m disappointed to read that. Welles was a big part of what made Folk & Roots great, and unique among the many other street festivals. This still sounds great. Where can my local, original, Lincoln Square-based band go to be booked ?  ;)

I agree. This sounds like non-music administrators trying to cut costs. What BS!

I haven’t lived in this hood for 8 years to get blackout drunk on the goddamn pavement. I can do that anywhere. MOVE THIS FEST BACK INTO THE PARK OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY

“an eclectic mix of music performers, ranging from indie rock to world music …”  ’scuse me where’s a bucket so I can throw up?Because basically this will be another overcrowded Chicago street fest featuring absolutely no place to sit and the same food and beer you can get in the neighborhood any day of the week. The Yuppies are RUINING the neighborhood.

Depressing – this sounds like every other neighborhood festival now, nothing special like Folk and Roots was.   It was great having it in a park and it made it much easier to bring a family and introduce the kids to new music without having to stand or sit on the street.  I’m very disappointed.
