Ald. Joe Moreno (1st) and Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd) will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, April 21 to discuss the Chicago Housing Authority’s plans for the Julia Lathrop Homes.

Located at 2000 W. Diversey, residency at the Lathrop Homes has declined in recent years. With many vacant units, Chicago Housing Authority is planning to consolidate residents.

From Chicago Reporter’s Muckraker blog:

“The Logan Square Neighborhood Association says CHA recently issued 70 180-day notices to residents at Lathrop Homes, asking them to move south of Diversey Parkway to the other half of the development to consolidate residents for safety reasons. The association says it was told the development is unsafe because of a decline in the number of residents at Lathrop.”

The meeting is on Thursday, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at New Life Community Church, 2958 N. Damen. For more information, contact Sam Padron-Perez.
