Today Mariano’s Fresh Market opens its first store within the Chicago city limits. To celebrate, the Milwaukee-based company held a Grand Opening celebration Monday night with a ribbon cutting and a $5,000 donation to the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club.

Like other new Mariano’s stores in Arlington Heights and Vernon Hills, the new grocery focuses on high-end customer service, a variety of prepared foods, handmade pizza prepared in a wood-burning oven, fresh seafood and a wide produce selection. Over 400 people are employed by the store.

Mariano’s Fresh Market is located at 3500 N. Western Ave. The store is open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

    TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
I WAS A SECRET SHOPPER IN YOUR STORE NOT TO LONG AGO AND I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT THE SERVICE  WAS TERRIABLE . I HAD TO TO WAIT FOR 20 MINUTES AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK ,
YOU LINES WERE TO LONG TO WERE YOU SHOULD HAVE OPENED ANOTHER REGISTER.
I HAVE BEEN DIONG THIS FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DIGUSTED WITH A STORE IN MY LIFE. YOU HIRE PEOPLE JUST TO FIRE THEM AND MOST OF YOUR EMPLOYEES HAVE FAMILY.
STOP RUNNING A GASTOPO AND TREATING YOUR EMPLOYEES LIKE SLAVES.

Was at your store today and LOVE IT! Service was great, employees very friendly and helpful.

Food is awesome and you have your upscale competitors beat to hell.

I tried Mariano’s on Western for the first time a few days ago. I am now a new customer. No more Jewel!! Mariano’s has a bigger selection and lower prices. A kind of combo between Jewel and Whole foods, only better selections and  priced than both. I just hope the lower prices are not just a lure and will start creeping up and end up as high priced as Jewel.

Was back at my new favorite store today and was disappointed.  It seems they do not carry NAAN, a tandori style Indian flat bread. They carry other flat breads and some Indian food, but alas, no NAAN.
