Oh cool, down the block from me. Glad I wasn’t in town… any chance this happened during the power outage we had yesterday?

No, the power was restored by then, I got back home (live just south of Montrose) and all the lights were on just before 10 o’clock.

We got home around 11:30 and there was nothing going on. At 2am, I noticed this outside my window, so definitely not during the power outage. It was a surreal scene: the car with it’s driver’s side door wide open, a McDonald’s bag on the snow right outside the driver’s door, 3 cops surveying the scene and taking crime photos.

I called District 19 for information (312-744-5983) this afternoon, but whoever was working the desk claims they know nothing about it and that I should call back tonight after 9:00 when someone working last night’s beat would have information.

Way to communicate with each other, Chicago Police Department.

Maybe someone took one more McNugget than they were supposed to.
