Dolly Parton was in town Wednesday to kick off the Chicago leg of the tour of the “9 to 5 Musical” and to celebrate her 65th birthday. And local bakery Angel Food Bakery, 1636 W. Montrose, made the cake fit for the queen of country.
Before the show, Gov. Pat Quinn came out to introduce Dolly and declared it “Dolly Parton Day.” You celebrated it whether you knew it or not.
And after the show Dolly came back out to say hello, and the cast of the show wheeled out a cake decorated with butterflies and typewriters.
