Good news for those of us who have to leave early for work. The Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce announced that the popular Tuesday morning farmers? market will expand to Thursday nights from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and it’ll coincide with the free concert series in Giddings Plaza.
According to the Chamber, most of the vendors from Tuesday morning will reappear on Thursday nights in the parking lot near the El station, with the addition of some local artists. ?So you can expect to see even more people squeezing into Lincoln Square starting June 17 (weather permitting). Both the concerts and evening market will end September 2.
Lincoln Square alderman Eugene Schulter said he’d like to see produce from the farmers’ market grown at the new community garden that’s planned for the vacant lot next to Walgreens on Lawrence and Western avenues.
