On Saturday, September 18, the Lake View YMCA (3333 N. Marshfield) puts the “fun” in fundraising by hosting a day-long event to benefit the Strong Kids Campaign. This annual campaign provides scholarship and subsidy money for YMCA membership, thus fulfilling the organization’s goal “that no one is turned away from the Y due to financial limitations.”
The family fun gets hopping at 10 a.m. with an inflatable bouncy house, arts and crafts, snacks, music, and more. (The morning event is free.) The evening fundraising event, “Reaching for the Stars,” starts at 7 p.m. and features a silent action, raffle, music, and dancing. Tickets for the evening festivities are $50 per adult and include supper and two drink tickets. YMCA will provide childcare at the Mazing Kids Center during the event ($5 per child). “Reaching for the Stars” wraps up at 10 p.m.
To purchase tickets, stop by the front desk at the Lake View Y, order by phone by calling Operations Director Kellie Staiert: (773) 248-3333 (x2986), purchase them from a Lake View YMCA board member, or buy them the day of the event.
