The Chicago Photography Center presents a new exhibit Friday “Iraqi Eyes,” featuring images of daily life from a war-torn country.
Photographers Kamaran Najim and Jamal Penjweny are visiting from Iraq to speak about their experiences at the exhibit opening Friday at Chicago Photography Center.
Najim is founder and directory of Metrography, the first and only Iraqi photography agency with 65 photographers from all regions of Iraq. Penjweny has worked as a photojournalist, producer, cameraman and editor. His work has been featured all over the world.
The exhibit is also sponsored by the International Human Rights Law Institute at DePaul University. It runs February 11 – February 28. The opening is Friday, Feb. 11 at Chicago Photography Center, 3301 N. Lincoln Ave., 7 to 9:30 p.m.
