Honda Tire Bandit(s) On the Loose
If you own a Honda, you might want to keep an eye on your tires, because Chicago detectives are investigating a string of Honda tire thefts. According to a community alert issued by Area Three detectives, the thefts are taking place during the evening, and the bandit (or bandits) are targeting Hondas parked on the street. Too bad there isn’t a club for tires that doesn’t look like a boot (and doesn’t cost hundreds of dollars).
Chicago detectives are also warning small-business owners about a series of break-ins that are taking place throughout Area Three, which includes parts of Lincoln Square and Lake View. The burglaries have taken place during the evening or early morning, and the burglars have gotten into the businesses either by smashing a window or prying open the front door, according to a community alert issued by Area 3 detectives. Detectives encourage small-business owners to not leave any money in registers and leave the empty registers open.
The Chicago Police Department encourages anyone with information about either the Honda Tire Bandit or the small-business burglaries to call Area Three detectives at (312) 744-8261.
