Giddings Plaza is going to get more crowded this summer, because a new Paciugo outpost is slated to open in the ground floor of the Fountain View building across from Café Selmarie.
Paciugo makes gelato in four base formats, including milk-based (no cream, butter, or margarine), water-based (fat free and dairy free), soy-based, and sugarless. Typically, the gelateria offers up to 30 flavors at a time and they range from traditional, such as hazelnut chocolate, to “I can’t believe it’s a flavor,” like olive oil with black pepper.
Paciugo started in 2000 when the Ginatta family moved from Turin, Italy to Dallas. There are currently nine Paciugo retail locations in the greater Dallas area and a total of 23 locations in the United States, including one in Lake View and another in west suburban Forest Park.
Owner Ani Poddar, who also operates the Lake View location, said he hopes the Lincoln Square location will open in June, but work inside the space is just getting started. Stay tuned and get ready to line up for a free taste.
