On Saturday the Horner Park Advisory Council (HPAC) and the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association (RMIA) will launch an effort to raise $1,000 to match pledged funds from Openlands to purchase new trees at Ravenswood Manor Park, 4626 N. Manor Ave.
HPAC and RMIA is kicking off their effort with a tree planting on Saturday, October 1 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
“We will be planting 2 trees on Manor Avenue, and preparing the park for the winter. A tree keeper from Openlands will be with us to teach us proper planting techniques,” says the emailed announcement.
“Coffee and donuts will be provided. All volunteers are asked to bring gloves, a shovel and a desire to help our park!”
