Grand Opening: Lincoln Square Dominick’s

Dominick’s kicked off their 85th Anniversary by opening their store in Lincoln Square (5233 N Lincoln Ave.).  Support from the neighborhood was very large with over 100 people waiting outside before the 8 a.m. opening.

Don Keprta, Dominick’s President, 40th Ward Alderman Patrick O’Connor and the Amundsen High School band, were all on hand to welcome returning shoppers to the brand new 48,735 square foot store.

As part of the Grand Opening today Dominick’s announced the new Just for U program which digitally links a customers Fresh Values Card with their shopping habits.  By signing up online customers can receive personalized in-store deals, digitally load coupons and receive Your Club specials outlined through a personal internet login.

New features of the LifeStyle store include a Starbucks, free WiFi and grocery delivery service.  Other elements include energy saving lighting, water-efficient landscaping and in-store recycling bins.

Dominick’s displayed their commitment to the neighborhood.  As part of the celebration Goldie’s Place, a support center that helps homeless citizens become job-ready, received a large gift certificate from the store.  The Amundsen High School Band was also given a pizza party as thanks for their participation in the celebration.

Today (9/30/2010) from 4 – 8 p.m. the store is having a Grand Opening Celebration that includes 10 percent off all purchases over $50, gift bags and samples throughout the store.
