Get Halloween’ed In The Neighborhood

With fall in full swing and Halloween right around the corner, Lincoln Square and Northcenter have several events coming up in the next few weeks to help celebrate the season.

Events are free unless otherwise specified.

Horner Park Pumpkin Patch – Saturday, October 20 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Horner Park, 2741 W. Montrose Ave. Sponsored by the Park District, pick your personal favorite from a field filled with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, and personalize it at the pumpkin decorating station. Enjoy Halloween-themed carnival games, petting zoo, horse-drawn hayride, and tattoos complete a day’s worth of fall fun. All ages, activity fees vary from free to $1-$3

Lincoln Square Halloween HappeningsSaturday, October 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., participating businesses on Damen, Lincoln, Rockwell, and Western avenues will provide candy or a small giveaway to area children. In addition to trick or treating several other activities will occur at area businesses and within Giddings Plaza. From 9 a.m. to noon, there will also be a costume contest and fundraiser at Jookie Portrait Boutique, 4656 N. Rockwell Ave. At 11 a.m., there will be Spooky Story time featured by The Book Cellar in Giddings Plaza. At noon and while supplies last, there will be pumpkin decorating and at 2 p.m. a dog parade and costume contest on Leland Avenue.

Trick or Treat Northcenter – Also on the 27th, the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce hand out trick or treat bags and area maps in the Northcenter Town Square, 4100 N. Damen Ave., between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Various businesses in Northcenter will be participating in trick or treating. There will be a costume contest in the Town Square at noon with prizes for age groups 3 and under, 4 – 9, and 10 and above. New this year: A special prize for the best-costumed family.

Ravenswood Halloween Spooktacular - Bethany UCC is sponsoring their annual haunted house (open after dusk until 10:00 p.m. and games and crafts for the younger kids starting at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 4250 N. Paulina Ave.

8th Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade- Held at the corner of Ravenswood & Winona, Saturday October 27th. Registration begins at 12pm, parade starts promptly at 1:30. Cash prizes will be awarded for 8 different costume entries, raffle prizes by local vendors and refreshments will be sold from 12-3pm. Donations of non perishable dog food items and cleaning supplies will be accepted and go directly to help Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance located on Clark St in Andersonville.

    Hey there! Thanks for the post. There is a slight error regarding the Ruff Haus Pets dog parade. We’ll be meeting in Giddings Plaza, but the parade will actually march back to the store, where we’ll have a party and costume contest: https://www.facebook.com/events/100511926773855/.
