The objectives of Friends of Ravenswood School are growing, and so is the organization’s board. During elections held this past Tuesday night at the school (4332 N. Paulina St.), at-large board members were added to help carry out initiatives such as grant writing, community engagement and a new “buddy” program that will pair current families with incoming parents to welcome them to the school and show them the ropes.

Wendy Vasquez and Cornelia Grumman were elected co-presidents of FORS, Joanne Kiley is vice-president, Anita Stottrup is treasurer and Patrick Tucker is secretary. Chosen as at-large board members: Ingo Soeding, Erik Graves, Natalie Waechter, Rachel Koning-Beals and Larry Levy.
Both Vasquez and Grumman boast non-profit management experience: Vasquez as executive director of Ravenswood Community Services and Grumman, a Pulitzer Prize winner for her editorial writing at the Chicago Tribune, as executive director of the First Five Years Fund.
