Cleaning the yard can be a pain?especially when you don?t have the right equipment. But free shovels, brooms, rakes, and black bags will be available next Saturday as part of the ?Spring Clean and Green? event that?s sponsored by Lincoln Square alderman Eugene Schulter. The purpose of this annual event is to get residents to “work alongside [their] neighbors and clean parkways, alleys, and curb lines near [their] home,” according to a statement released by Schulter’s office. The free yard-cleaning equipment can be picked up at the 47th Ward Streets and Sans office at 4141 N. Rockwell after 8 a.m. on April 17. To sign up for the event, contact the 47th Ward public service office at (773) 348-8400.
