It’s been a rough summer across much of the U.S. but residents of Colorado have been hit harder than most. The folks at Fountainhead (1970 W. Montrose Ave.) were in the midst of brainstorming how to help the hundreds of people who lost their homes to wildfires when news broke of the Aurora shooting. Their solution: a fundraiser, “It Might Get Rocky,” to benefit victims of both tragedies.
Set for Aug. 21 at Fountainhead, “It Might Get Rocky” will feature a tap takeover with beers from Colorado breweries, many of which are donating kegs or supplying special brews for the event. Proceeds from sales will be divided between the Colorado Red Cross, to assist those affected by the wildfires, and a fund set up for Petra Anderson, a recent college graduate and aspiring musician who was critically injured in the Aurora shooting.
A silent auction will be held in the Barrel Room during the event and Fountainhead is also collecting gently used clothing throughout the month of August to ship to the wildfire victims. There’s no cover charge for the Aug. 21 fundraiser.
