Does that background look familiar to you?
WBEZ‘s Justin Kaufmann noticed a familiar backdrop to The Daily Show‘s recent interview of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich. He writes:
“In this piece, [Daily Show correspondent John] Oliver was talking to him outside, presumably in Rockford where the entire piece was located.
But after further review, the hill that they converse on is not located next to an expressway, but a four-lane thoroughfare that looks suspiciously like, well, Western Avenue. And the park looks eerily similar to the landscape of Welles Park, blocks away from Blagojevich’s North Side home.”
During the interview, green poles come into the frame, which look suspiciously like those of the gazebo in Welles Park. Did The Daily Show‘s John Oliver come to our neighborhood? Let’s hope next time he brings Jon Stewart.
Watch the video and let us know what you think. Blagojevich is interviewed at the 3-minute mark.
