The CTA Holiday Train has survived another year of budget cuts and will be travelling the Brown Line on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week. According to CTA, the train will be starting at the Midway Orange Line stop, travelling to the Kimball Brown Line stop:

  • Thursday from about 3:00 p.m. to about 5:45 p.m.
  • Friday from about 3:50 p.m. to about 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday from 12:50 p.m. to about 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday the train will make two round trips from Midway to Kimball and back.

If you haven’t see it before, besides just a train decked out with lights, there’s a special “Santa Car” where Santa rides his sleigh and waves to people as he rides by. Regular folks can ride the train too (but not on the Santa car), but you’ll need to pay regular CTA train fare.
