Coming Soon: Winter Parking Bans

By Samantha Abernethy | Tuesday, November 30, 2010

It’s almost December 1. Do you know where your car is parked?

The winter parking ban on snow routes starts tomorrow, banning parking from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. every morning from now until April 1. In other words, make sure you move your car before you go to bed tonight.

A violation can result in a $50 parking ticket and a $150 towing fee. If you get those tickets a lot, you might want to attend the free Chicago Driver Survival Seminar tonight.

The Expired Meter and Alderman Scott Waguespack host the seminar tonight 6:30 to 9 p.m. at DeVry University, room 220, 3300 N. Campbell.

They will teach the basics of avoiding and contesting parking tickets, red light camera tickets, speeding tickets and other moving violations. They will also discuss new driving laws that effect pedestrian and biking safety, and much more. Go to the Expired Meter website to find more information or contact Ald. Waguespack’s office at 773-248-1330.

Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. RSVP with your full name via email to ward32rsvp@theexpiredmeter.com.
