Chicago Pedestrian Plan Hearing on Wednesday

By Mike Fourcher | Monday, August 8, 2011

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) is trying to focus on the pedestrian experience by creating a “Pedestrian Plan” to “address how to make the city’s streets safe for Chicago’s youngest and oldest pedestrians, how to improve the connections between neighborhoods, and how an improved pedestrian environment can create a healthier and more livable city,” according to CDOT.

Next Wednesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Truman College cafeteria, 1145 W. Wilson Ave., you’ll have a chance to shape the city’s plan as part of a series of seven field hearings. If you miss that, there’s an interesting online alternative “special session” from noon to 1:00 p.m. on August 31 (register here).
