Chicago Folk And Roots Festival Lineup Announced

The Old Town School of Folk Music has released the main-stage lineup for this year’s Chicago Folk And Foots Festival, which takes place in Welles Park on Saturday, July 10, and Sunday, July 11. Highlights include Chicago-based Occidental Brothers Dance Band International performing with African vocalist Samba Mapangala at the mic on Saturday, and Niger-based Etran Finatawa (which translates to “the stars of tradition”) play on Sunday. Below is a complete lineup for the main stage.

Saturday, July 10

12:55 p.m. – Midwest Fiddle Championship

2 p.m. – Hoyle Brothers

2:55 p.m. – James King Band

4:05 p.m. – Red Stick Ramblers

5:05 p.m. – Gingarte Capoeira Chicago

5:30 p.m. Occidental Brothers Dance Band International featuring Samba Mapangala

7 p.m. – Shemekia Copeland

8: 30 p.m. – Budos Band

Sunday, July 11

Noon – Wiggleworms 25th Birthday Party

1 p.m. – Wazo County Warblers & The Fly Boys

1:45 p.m. – The Boils

2:30 p.m. – Sanctified Grumblers

3:15 p.m. – Andreas Kapsalis & Goran Ivanovic Guitar Duo
