Street festivals are Chicago’s thing. We love to get outside, hear some great music, get some great food and hang out with our friends. Chicago Ribfest, which kicks off on Friday, is all that but better.
This year Center Square Journal is partnering with the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce, the folks who produce Ribfest, to cover Ribfest slab-to-slab. That means we’ve got details on every band, what the fests’ 30 restaurants are serving up and how you can get win a spot in the Ribmania ribeating contest.
So what makes Ribfest different? Simple: It’s a homegrown festival. No outside groups or companies are running it. It’s got hundreds of volunteers, food choices you won’t find at any other festival and real, indy Midwest bands like Tapes ‘n’ Tapes, Fort Frances and Ezra Furman & The Harpoons.
If that’s not enough, there’s a kids stage too with plenty of child-energy burning activities to do.
Not excited yet? Well, we’ve also got a way you can win free food and drink tickets – just enter your email here!
And to top it all off, the CSJ team will have a booth at the fest! So please stop by and say hello!
