Ravenswood Presbyterian Church, located at 43oo N. Hermitage Ave., hosted their 2nd annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday, November 23, the evening before Thanksgiving. The pastor of the bilingual church, Rev. Magdalena Garcia, said they did more to spread the word about the dinner this year, putting up fliers in the neighborhood and advertising at other churches that host weekly dinners, in hopes of reaching more people in the community. The menu featured a traditional Thanksgiving turkey as a main, with Latin-style sides of rice and beans. Guests enjoyed a live piano performance during dinner, and a raffle of cash prizes. With a capacity to feed up to 150, the turnout this year was better than last, but there were still enough leftovers for guests to have seconds.
