Thank god it’s farmers market season. Now I can stop feeling guilty about the carbon footprint of the red pepper that I ate back in February and start feeling smug about buying local and sustainable.

Here’s a rundown of markets in CSJ territory, plus neighboring ‘hoods. The complete list of Chicago’s markets can be found here, along with a handy seasonality chart that tells you when some of your favorite fruits and veggies will be ripe for the picking.
