Our New Design

By Mike Fourcher | Sunday, February 27, 2011

If you’re a regular reader, you’ve probably noticed that the look of our site has changed a bit. Roscoe View Journal and its big sister Center Square Journal has been publishing for a year now and in that time we’ve received a great deal of feedback on what people like and don’t like. Some of the loudest and most consistent comments have come from our advertisers.

Besides the obvious reason that they pay for all this, we believe our advertising plays an important role: It’s local, and it lets readers know what local businesses have to offer. In the non-stop-media haze, it is pretty easy to lose track of what’s going on right next door. Roscoe View Journal and Center Square Journal helps you stay up on what’s happening with those businesses next door.

Our new site design provides more space for our advertisers and more ad size options. We hope you’ll take a hard look at these great local businesses, buy their stuff, and tell them that you got there by way of Center Square Journal and Roscoe View Journal.

Other than that, we did a lot to clean up the site. The header is cleaner, the sidebars are less cluttered and when you read an individual post, you’ll find the article space is wider for, we think, a better reading experience.

We’re not done yet. As we go into our second year, we have a lot more changes in store. We plan to keep writing about our great neighborhoods and telling you more about the places you work and call home.

Thank you for reading. We love what we do and we’re thankful that you let us do it.
