After just two short years in Andersonville
, music and art shop, Transistor is moving to the old Deadwax Records space, 3819 N. Lincoln Ave., in Northcenter. Co-owners Rani Woolpert and Andy Miles cited lower rents and a more simplified lifestyle in Northcenter in an email sent last week to store email subscribers.

More than just a music store, Transistor has fostered a close following in Chicago’s indy music and art scene, as it has hosted film screenings, a weekly radio show, music workshops and a small record label.

Love the old space, looking forward to the new!  And since I live pretty much halfway between, my travel time is not affected.
