Last spring’s ward remap process shifted a number of Lincoln Square residents from Ald. Ameya Pawar’s 47th Ward into the 40th, represented by Ald. Patrick O’Connor, creating a limbo of sorts for neighborhood groups wondering which ward office to approach regarding services and improvements.
Wonder no more. Pawar and O’Connor will both address a joint meeting of Winnemac Park Neighbors and Lincoln Square North Neighbors on July 10, 6:30 p.m., at Amundsen High School, 5110 N. Damen Ave., in the school’s library (enter the center door, the library is on the left). In addition to discussing changes as a result of the ward remap, the alderman are expected to touch on issues including neighborhood schools and economic development along the critical corridors of Lawrence and Lincoln Avenues. Attendees will have an opportunity to bring up additional topics during a Q&A session.
Winnemac Park Neighbors encompasses residents who live in the area bounded by Lawrence and Foster, Ashland and Western. Lincoln Square North Neighbors covers residents bounded by Lawrence and Foster, Western and the Chicago River.
