In case you were wondering, Ald. Ameya Pawar (47th) has an open and working office now, at 4243 N. Lincoln Ave., just a couple of doors north of former Ald. Eugene Schulter’s old office. The office number is (773) 868-4747. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“It’s cool. It’s getting there,” said Pawar this afternoon. “We will have an open house as soon as we have the place cleaned up. We’ve got a number of peole who have contacted to volunteer. We want to get everyone in and figure out who we need to meet with individually.”

As for a ward night, Pawar does not have plans just yet. “We’re going to do the open houses and once we have those 4 or 5 out of the way then we’ll start work on ward nights.

“We chose this space because it’s warm and inviting,” said Pawar. “The tone here is sort of a coffee shop-slash-start up. We’ll see what happens. The hope is have wi-fi so people can come in here and have their coffee and hang out.”
