Following a speech to the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce Monday night, 47th Ward Alderman, Eugene Schulter said that he would not be passing petitions for Rahm Emanuel or any other candidate for mayor, until after the November 2nd elections.
“After November 2nd, we’re going to determine what we’re going to do. Is he a ward resident? Yes he is,” said Schulter.
Ameya Pawar, who plans to run against Schulter in the 2011 municipal elections, says he will judge mayor candidates’ policy platforms first. “I haven’t seen anyone’s platform yet,” said Pawar. “I’m interested to see how the platform shapes up. I’m interested in seeing their agenda and what they want to achieve.”
Schulter’s 2002 endorsement for Emanuel was considered critical when he first ran for Congress.
