‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ Benefit for Amundsen HS

The American Theater Company on Lincoln Ave. has made a tradition of their annual performance of a radio play of “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Toys For Tots Motorcycle Parade on Sunday!

The 35th Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade rolls north on Western Ave starting at 85th Street and ending at Lane Tech High School on Western and Roscoe Aves. from approximately 9:30 a.m. until around 2:30 p.m. If you want to be in the parade, bring your motorcycle and a toy to the Dan Ryan Woods starting at 6:00 a.m.

Winter Parking Ban Goes Into Effect Today

You know those annoying parking bans along major arteries when it snows over 2-inches. Yeah, well the Winter Parking Ban goes into effect starting at 3:00 a.m this morning. Even worse, the City plans to enforce the ban regardless of snow from December 1, 2012 through April 1, 2013, between the hours of 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. Drivers who ignore the ban face a $150 towing fee (minimum), a $60 ticket and a storage fee of $10 per day that increases over time.

Forward Chicago Seniors Launch

Tribune movie critic Michael Phillips and sports columnist Steve Rosenbloom will co-host a panel discussion of the 1977 Paul Newman hockey bash “Slap Shot” at Music Box Theater on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The discussion will wrap up with a screening of the original 35mm film. But don’t miss the beginning, when Wayne Messmer will sing the national anthem. For real.

Get The County Budget Lowdown

John Fritchey (D-12) will speak to Greater Rockwell Organization Tuesday, Dec. 4 on the state of the County budget and the $2 million Violence Prevention, Intervention and Reduction fund that he spearheaded. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the Luther Memorial Church on Wilson and Campbell.
