If you’re willing to be patient, anyone can stalk a food truck or snag a reservation at Girl and the Goat. If you really wanna impress me, you’ve got to score a table at a dinner no one knows about.

I guess we’re letting the cat out of the bag, but Southport Grocery & Cafe, 3552 N. Southport Ave., just announced its Summer Secret Supper. The three-course prix fixe menu will be offered June 16, 7:00 p.m. The cost is $35 per person, tax and tip not included. Call (773) 665-0100 to reserve a table, they’re sure to go fast, and mention any dietary restrictions. Make sure you talk to a live human being, as the restaurant warns that a message on their answering machine will not secure you a spot.

Although we’ve divulged the date, the real secret is the menu, which the cafe is guarding like the name of Madonna’s plastic surgeon. For clues, we took a look at April’s secret supper: wild ramp soup and octopus salad; seared lamb, Israeli couscous, lamb date jus; sweet ricotta pastry, rhubarb curd.

How did we come by this info? Our lips are sealed.
