With the oppressive heat behind us, more than twenty Lincoln Square gardens will open for the 7th Annual Lincoln Square Garden Walk on Saturday. Kicking off in Giddings Plaza, 4731 N. Lincoln Ave., where walk-goers can pick up maps of the gardens and watch “how-to” demonstrations from master gardeners, the walk includes a Japanese footbridge, a production vegetable garden and a large shade garden.
“This is a hands-on, do-it-yourself garden walk,” says Walk organizer Nancy Benjamin, “You can take these ideas home with you.”
The walk runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a $10 fee that goes to benefit the not-for-profit Lincoln Square Foundation’s young leader projects. Call 312-286-0956 for additional information.
