Tonight the Northcenter Chamber is holding their “rain date” concert in the Northcenter Town Square, 4100 N. Damen Ave., after last week’s concert with Jon Speigel’s Kletzmer Experience was cancelled due to excessive heat. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and usually runs about 90 minutes.
For those folks who get there early, Northcenter Chamber Exec. Director Garrett FitzGerald is promising a personally created gourmet goodie. “Leg of lamb on a spit, grilled over north african olive wood, sliced and serviced on a lavash bread with a yogurt mint sauce, with feta cheese and harissa, which is a Middle Eastern hot sauce,” says the foodie.
In case you were wondering, FitzGerald ordered the olive wood from the internet, and now he has a personal stash. The herbs from his backyard garden.
